Riding Lessons & Summer Camp

We offer riding lessons for all ages and levels. Just learning to ride to refresher riding for adults.

Learn the basics with a ground up approach taught by Denise and staff. These lessons are a 1/2 hour long and gradually take you from learning how to approach and handle a horse, to tack and equipment and eventually riding. These lessons will prepare you to move onto longer lessons with future instructors.

John will help you with groundwork exercises that will help you communicate with your horse. These are great for non-riders or those looking to try Liberty training.

Itty Bitty Camp

The focus of this camp is to help the younger crew become comfortable around horses while learning how to ride using balance and posture drills and eventually, steering through obstacles on their own. This is a great booster to self-esteem and building confidence!

Beginner to Advanced Camp

Beginners receive the opportunity to learn about the responsibilities of whole horse care. Priority is given towards the safety of the horse and rider. Campers will learn proper mounting and dismounting, posture and balance, basic commands, and many other skills as riders improve. Each beginner student will have a helper to assist in building confidence.

Novice campers should be comfortable and in control of the walk and trot on their own but have limited experience with the trot. Each rider will work on control of walking and improving on their trot through obstacles. There will be a helper assigned to each rider.

For the Advanced riders, children will experience a variety of horsemanship skills from learning to drive a team (Duke and Dan, the farms’ workhorses) as well as liberty training, trick training, groundwork, and horseback riding. Local farrier and ranch owner John Fahey will share his knowledge of hoof trimming as well.

Itty Bitty Camps are for students ages 4-6 and will be $300 per week. All other students whether Beginner to Advanced are geared towards riders aged 6 and up at $500 per week. Farm camp $250 for 3 days.
